New Zealand 2007

Why I'm here

I visited the University of Otago, Dunedin on the South Island of New Zealand in March 2006 as part of a study tour. Shortly afterwards I was contacted by Tony Harland (who used to work at the University of Sheffield) and asked if I would like to have my name put forward for the William Evans Visiting Fellowship, which would allow me to spend time at Otago working with colleagues in the Higher Education Development Centre and more widely across the University. To cut a longish story short, we were successful in the nomination and I travel out on Thursday 1 March.

There is a slight contrast between where I'll be located in Dunedin (on the left) and the Adsetts Centre, where I work at Sheffield Hallam University
